Because our program is small and home-based, children spend their days with adults who understand their personalities and individual context. We work to provide personalized guidance and care for every child.

Owner & lead teacher

Teacher Ma

Ma Hui, owner and lead teacher of Thumbs up Bilingual Early Learning, graduated from university in 1992 with a degree in education and worked 20+ years as a teacher in China before moving to the US. She founded Thumbs up Bilingual Early Learning in 2013 with the goal of providing a safe, warm, and interactive environment for young children to learn, grow, and develop crucial early foundational skills. Today, with 10+ years of experience running the daycare, she continues to care for young children with love, attentiveness and guidance, building lasting relationships long after graduation.

Second lead teacher

Teacher Li

Teacher Li is our second teacher and holds equal responsibility as Teacher Ma, supervising and leading children in daily activities, books and storytelling. He takes pride in preparing healthy and nutritious meals for lunch every day.

Teacher assistant & bilingual tutor

LinLin (Zihe Li)

LinLin, son of Teacher Ma and Teacher Li, works as teacher assistant during the summer, helping supervise children and spending significant time leading activities and art projects. During the school year, he dedicates time after school to support children's bilingual development, through drawing/coloring activities, reading stories, and small conversations, introducing simple vocabulary and the alphabet.
